What's in the box?

Well, it wasn’t exciting or anything like that. I actually spent the weekend cleaning out closets. I can’t believe all the stuff we packed away through the years. Being a military family has turned us all into pack rats. I sorted through boxes that had been packed away for more than 20 years. I have to say when I started opening boxes I thought to myself, what in the world was we thinking when we packed this junk up for our move. I mean did I really think we might need some of this stuff. LOL I am so glad my way of thinking has changed through the years. I guess I must have had a reason for packing some of that stuff up.
But then I found boxes that my children had packed in their own boxes. When I opened the boxes at first I was thinking, well broken toys marbles and other odds and ends. But the more I pulled things out of the boxes and the closer to the bottom of the boxes the stranger the thing got. I have to say (OMG) what could they have been thinking. I found they had actually packed rocks in the bottom of their box. Yes, you read it right. My children had packed rocks for the move. Rocks, sand, dirt& sticks. You have to be thinking the same thing I was at this point. I said holy cow, did my children think the military was sending us to some unknown world that would not have any dirt, sand, rocks or sticks. I have to wonder what was going through their heads each time we told them the Army was once again sending us to a new place. I know we tried to tell them what was going on by telling them we were going to somewhere different. But it was not until now. That I realize they did not understand what that meant.
I still have a lot more boxes I need to sort. At this point I am really scared of what might be packed away in them. Because through the years, my children have lost things. No not just the toys. They have lost parrakets, Fish, and hamsters. And god only knows what else could be packes away for safe keeping. It truly is scary because what I failed to inform you is that I also found a dried lizard a butterfly a dried goldfish and some funny looking bug. LOL.
I am praying that they have not packed away any more of their friends. Please say a little prayer for me while I finish up my search and destroy mission on clutter.

  4. Hey, Tam so sorry to hear about your Valentine. Maybe you should shock him by sending him flowers. With a little note that says, I know work has been hard lately and we missed Valentines day together. So I thought we would have a late valentines to night. Meet me in the bath at 11:pm. Clothes opt. Try it and see what happens.
